Grant Recipient Stories

RH Helping Hands provides financial assistance to Round Hill Country Club employees and their families facing unexpected hardships, including medical and dental expenses, housing, transportation, family emergencies, and bereavement.

The stories below show how RH Helping Hands grants have helped employees and their families during difficult times.

RHHH Housing grant

An employee needed to leave an unsafe living situation and find a new apartment. Although the employee found an affordable place to live, the unexpected move meant losing money already paid toward the previous apartment and not having enough to cover the new security deposit.

RH Helping Hands approved a grant to help cover the deposit so the employee could move into a safer home.

RHH Medical grant

An employee was helping cover medical expenses for a family member recovering from a serious illness. The ongoing costs of medication, special dietary needs, and home care had become difficult to manage.

RH Helping Hands approved a grant to help with these medical expenses and reduce the financial burden on the family.

Family grants

When essential work equipment was stolen, an employee's household experienced an unexpected loss of income. Although most of the equipment was eventually replaced, the interruption in work made it difficult to keep up with rent and other household bills.

RH Helping Hands approved a grant to help cover monthly expenses while the household dealt with the loss of income.

Education

An employee nearing completion of a college degree was no longer eligible for state grant funding. Without that assistance, paying for tuition, books, and everyday living expenses became more difficult.

RH Helping Hands approved a grant to help cover educational costs, living expenses, and transportation so the employee could continue working toward graduation.

Housing grants

An employee needed to move into a new apartment to provide a more comfortable home for their family. Although the move was important, the upfront costs of securing a new apartment were difficult to afford.

RH Helping Hands approved a grant to help cover the first and last month's rent and security deposit.

Auto and transportation grants

When an employee's car transmission failed, the employee had to borrow a vehicle to get to work. Having recently lost savings due to an unexpected housing expense, the employee could not afford the repair.

RH Helping Hands approved a grant to cover the transmission repair, allowing the employee to get back to using their own vehicle for work.

Auto and transportation grants

An employee's car was totaled in an accident, leaving the employee dependent on rides from friends and family to get to work. Replacing the vehicle was an expense the employee could not manage alone.

RH Helping Hands approved a grant to help with the down payment on another car.

Grants for dental work

An employee needed three dental crowns, but insurance covered only about half of the treatment cost. The remaining amount was more than the employee could afford, making it difficult to schedule the necessary dental work.

RH Helping Hands approved a grant to cover the employee's portion of the cost.
